Abstract
Regulatory affairs is not a typical career that people intentionally plan to pursue from the outset. Many encounter the profession through adjacent disciplines such as quality assurance, engineering or clinical research and, as such, this generates new professionals in the field that do not have a defined pathway to follow in order to progress and succeed.
Drawing on personal experience and industry observations, this article explores how early career professionals can navigate the regulatory profession and build a rewarding career in medical device regulation.
